What better way to celebrate 20 years of Geocaching than to get out and see some of the great Oklahoma countryside and the highways that helped make geocaching so popular. U.S. Highway 66 became arguably the most popular, and certainly one of the most important, roads in the nation.
Interestingly, Geocaching and Route 66 will both have a storied history, and both have a bright future. Groundspeak is releasing a series of geocaches centered around the Adventure Lab concept, that will feature Route 66 from end to end (Chicago, IL to Los Angeles, CA). There will be several Oklahoma communities featured along the way, and Weatherford is one.
What: Geocaching and Its Connection to Route 66
Where: Lucille's Roadhouse Diner (Route 66 Room)
When: Saturday, 24 April from 11:00am - 1:00pm
As always, food purchases are not required, so plan to attend whether you'll be eating or not.
