Geocache Description:

03 July 2021, 09:30 - 11:30

Come and celebrate

Independence Day and 20 Years of Geocaching!

Who

All geocachers, friends and family are welcome. Please state the number in your party in your log.

Please wear or bring something patriotic to celebrate Independence Day. I will be handing out American flags.

What

A celebration of America and for twenty years of geocaching! You will get a special icon and souvenir!

There will be a group picture to save this part of our history and we will have a small raffle too.

I hope to be able to hide a couple of new geocaches that will publish after the event.

 Where

This celebration will be at the posted coordinates at Thorpe Park in Flagstaff, Arizona. Look for the big ramada past the tennis courts.

 When

Saturday, July 3

9:30 am to 11:30 am

We will be in the shade under the ramada but it will still be warm. I thought of having this on July 4th but I thought the park might be too crowded so opted for the day before.

Bring
Bring a small item or two to add to the raffle. For each raffle item you bring you will receive one raffle ticket. If you do not bring an item you may not be able to participate in the raffle. The item can be related to geocaching, or related to the July 4th holiday, such as something patriotic.

Bring your travel bugs to trade, as long as you promise to log them right after the event!

Bring any cold drink you prefer. Wine in boxes and beer in cans for individual consumption are allowed in city parks.

Bring a small snack to share, a bag of chips, and some dip, something sweet or something simple to share. I will bring brownies.

There are fire restrictions as of June 14, so we cannot have flames of any kind. For more info go here: http://www.flagstaff.az.gov/2981/Fire-Restriction-Stages

Thorpe Park Guidelines

Smoking is banned in all city parks, including the use of e-cigarettes.

Glass containers, kegs and spirituous alcohol is prohibited in all city parks.

Domestic animals are not permitted in certain posted areas of park property. Persons bringing domestic animals on park property are responsible for immediate cleanup and removal of animal waste. All persons are required to have a container for waste removal with them while their pet is on park property.

Attendees will be expected to follow all current guidelines around social distancing and mask use. Please bring your own mask and hand sanitizer.
