Geocache Description:

We have not long lived in Street, and have enjoyed getting out and about with our geodog, Bailey, and finding new places to walk.  We often walk across the fields to the River Brue, with glorious views of Glastonbury Tor.

This is a multi cache on a long little bridge.

Please be aware that the nearby fields can often have sheep or cattle grazing. Please be alert, and keep children and dogs close by. Electric fences can also be in use, so take extra care around these.

At the location of the bridge, answer the following questions.
Replace the answers with the corresponding letters, and complete the equation.
This will give you a new set of co-ordinates about 250m away where the final can be found.

  • Count the number of deck boards that make up the bridge?  A B
  • The total number of horizontal bars on both sides? C
  • The number of vertical/upright posts used on the bridge? D E
  • Number of words on the signs at either end, attached to the posts? F

Then complete the following calculation;

N51 0C.(A-B)F0 W002 A(B-D).(C+D)(C-D)C
The checksum for 10 numbers, (the last 5 digits of Northings and Westings) is the same as the number of deck boards

FTF certificate as a trophy for the first to find, along with a little swag for younger cachers.  Please replace log book as found to protect better from the weather. No pen so bring your own.

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S to Stoke Bunnies for being FTF

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast. There is a stats listing run by Billiethecat, so you can see how many Little Bridges you have found, you can find it here:- https://littlebridgesseries.wordpress.com/ . If you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan on stanthews@aol.com and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xxxx then the name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to stats list.
