Geocache Description:

These caches have been placed with the kind permission of the Senior Green Space Officer for Hinckley & Bosworth Council. His only request was that the caches were placed in locations and manors that are sensitive to the environment.

With that in mind all the caches have been placed on or just off established paths or easily accessed areas. You should not need to bush whack anything apart from the odd nettle however in meadow areas summer growth may have obscured some of the less used trails.

In woodland areas please follow established paths not the arrow on your GPS.

Burbage Common and Woods

are managed by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council. It is a lovely area to visit with open grass areas and wooded areas as well. Ideal for families, adults, kids and dogs. There are two places to get refreshments (neither are open all the time). The main visitor center at the main car park and also May’s cafe.

There are occasionally events held on The Common. At such times The Common can be very busy and parking virtually impossible. Follow this link to double check… http://www.burbage-common.co.uk/events/

The whole area can be VERY muddy after persistent rain.

The loop …..

It is recommended you park at the main car park or small car park (see waypoints) and do the caches in number order. If you park in the car park by Burbage Woods we would recommend you start the loop at #9 and then do the caches in descending order.

We’d appreciate any photos of any wildlife (that does include other members of your group) you encounter being attached to your logs.

The area is popular with families and one of the active caches on this part of The Common (GC5J3CH – Tilly The Hound) gets a lot of finds from people just starting geocaching. With that in mind we have made some of the caches easier to find. #7, #8 & #9 should be the easiest.

This loop can easily be combined with the the following caches GC72P9A – Hole In One, GC6T4HA – Wildflower (Skylark), GC6T4JQ – Super Massive Black Hole (MUSE), GC6T4NY – Shadows and Tall Trees (U2), GC6TGBJ – Suspicious Mind (Elvis Presley) and GC4TCQ1 – Cats Eyes.

Please log your DNFs. It helps everybody out. Please do not drop replacement caches.

You or a member of your group present at the cache must sign the log to claim a find.

Please do not post pictures of the caches in your logs.

Little Bridges # 1849 Common Lets Go Caching #10

This cache is hidden on a very busy path. Stealth and or eyes in the back of your head will be required!

We have taken many averaged GPS readings at the final GZ but the tree coverage plays havoc with the accuracy.

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast. There is a stats listing run by Billiethecat, so you can see how many Little Bridges you have found, you can find it here:- https://littlebridgesseries.wordpress.com/ . If you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan on stanthews@aol.com and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xxxx then the name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to stats list.
