Geocache Description:

Withymills Caches

Withymills caches are a group of geocaches spread along a route we travel regularly from Withywood through to Sea Mills.  They are designed to be relatively easy to locate, albeit, we do this route by car, bike and on foot, so some may not have nearby parking.  We try to use them to highlight nice spots along the way, although some of the nice places already have caches so sometimes they are in less exciting locations.  Our excercise has moved closer to home during Coronavirus social distancing restrictions, so we thought it would be nice to add a few more local caches for people to enjoy.  We hope you enjoy the series.

Withymills: Link Road

With the building of the new link road in Bristol, a new area of community and public footpaths have been opened up.  These provide fantastic links throught to the wider footpath and even cycle networks.  This cache is placed near to one such place.  This cache is NOT a park & grab, and there is no proper parking nearby, accessing this cache is best done by following footpaths from appropriate parking areas on the A38.  You are looking for a small tube.

Well done to silverfox11 for FTF on this cache.

Please Note

The notices posted on the farm adjacent to the link road, through which some of the footpaths pass, indicate people have not been respecting the land or the farmers property, this is totally unacceptable in our minds, and as such we would ask you not to undertake any of our caches if you are not willing to respect and take care of people property and the rural areas in which many are placed.  Remember to follow the Countryside Code.

Caching with Covid-19

We urge you to follow all government guidance in undertaking geocaching, please ensure you take appropriate precautions whilst finding our caches such as sanitising hands before and after handling the cache.

Other Withymills Caches

You can see all caches in the Withymills series using the Withymills List or you can see the individual listings below.

Little Bridges

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast. There is a stats listing run by Billiethecat, so you can see how many Little Bridges you have found, you can find it here:- https://littlebridgesseries.wordpress.com/ . If you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan on stanthews@aol.com and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xxxx then the name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to stats list.
