Bois de la Bastide - Les fraises des bois
Limoges bénéficie d’une qualité de vie reconnue, notamment grâce à ses nombreux parcs et jardins aménagés.
La ville détient en effet le record de France de surface d’espaces verts par habitant (50m2).En 30 ans, près de 200 hectares de parcs et terrains de jeux ont ainsi vu le jour. Les vallées de l’Aurence, de l’Auzette ou de la Vienne constituent de superbes coulées vertes. La nature est facile d’accès : quelque 40 sentiers de randonnée balisés sont situés à moins de 10 km de Limoges.
Le bois de La Bastide
Le Bois de La Bastide, d'une surface de plus de 75 ha, très apprécié par les promeneurs et surtout les joggers limougeauds, appartient à la Ville de Limoges depuis 1975. Il faisait partie de l'immense domaine du Baron Martin de la Bastide. Sa gestion est assurée par le service municipal des Espaces Verts en collaboration avec l'ONF. Un plan d'aménagement forestier a permis de maintenir l'état boisé sans renouvellement brutal. Le taillis est composé majoritairement de chênes pédonculés.
Le principal accès se situe à côté du Zénith. On peut également rejoindre les circuits à partir du quartier de Beaubreuil ou du lac d'Uzurat (Zone Industrielle Nord, près du Novotel).
Quatre circuits sont aménagés pour la course à pied et la marche :
Balisage noir (7km), balisage rouge (4km), balisage blanc (3km), balisage bleu (2km). Un parcours de santé, avec ses différentes installations pour faire de l'exercice physique, est installé sur 2km, avec un balisage jaune. Enfin, un grand circuit vert permet de faire le tour, à pied ou à vélo, du bois de la Bastide, puis du quartier Brachaud (Vestiges d'une villa gallo-romaine) en passant par le lac d'Uzurat. Les enfants, et leurs parents, seront heureux de découvrir les nombreux jeux aménagés pour les petits : toboggans et balançoires de toutes formes. Un parcours d'accrobranches se trouve à proximité, pour les amateurs d'acrobaties dans les arbres.
A la recherche des fraises des bois
A l'automne, vous pourrez tenter la ceuillette des champignons mais au printemps, c'est plutôt la fraise des bois que vous rechercherez ... au printemps ou peut-être en n'importe quelle saison ... cherchez bien !
Pourquoi "VER(T)" ?
Ma première cache posée (GC3VHY2) était une boîte verte, avec un stylo vert, un log book vert et des objets d'échange verts. Ainsi est née l'idée de placer les caches qui ont suivi sous le signe du "VERT" et de proposer un challenge consistant à y déposer de préférence des objets "VERTs". Ce challenge ne peut malheureusement pas concerner les caches de taille nano ou micro.

In 30 years, about 200 hectares of parks and playing fields were so fitted out. The valleys of Aurence, Auzette or Vienne constitute magnificent green alleys. The nature is easily accessible : about 40 marked out hiking trails are situated unless 10 km from Limoges.
Wood of La Bastide
The Wood of La Bastide, with a surface of more than 75 ha, very appreciated by the walkers and especially the joggers, belongs to the City of Limoges since 1975. It was a part of the immense domain of the Baron Martin de la Bastide. Its management is insured by the municipal department of the Green Spaces in association with the ONF. A forest development plan allowed to maintain the state afforested without rough renewal. The copse consists mainly of common oaks.
The main access is situated next to the Zenith. We can also join circuits from the district of Beaubreuil or the lake of Uzurat (North Industrial Park, near Novotel)..
Four circuits are fitted out for the running and the walking:
Black marking (7km), red marking (4km), white marking (3km), blue marking (2km). A fitness trail, with its various installations to make of the physical exercise, is settled on 2km, with a yellow marking. Finally, a big green circuit allows to make the tour, on foot or in bike, the wood of La Bastide, then the district Brachaud (Vestiges of a Gallo-Roman villa) by way of the lake of Uzurat. The children, and their parents, will be happy to discover the numerous games fitted out for youngs: slides and swings of any forms. A course of treetop adventure park is nearby, for the amateurs of acrobatics in trees.
Searching for wild strawberries
In the autumn, you can try picking mushrooms, but in the spring, it is rather the wild strawberry that you will look for ... in the spring or perhaps in any season ... look well!
Why "VER(T)"?
My first geocache ( GC3VHY2) was a green box, with a green pen, a green log book and green items for exchange. So was born the idea to place the caches which followed under the sign of the "VERT" ("GREEN" in French) and to propose a challenge consisting in depositing there rather "VERT" objects. This challenge cannot unfortunately concern the caches in nano or micro size.
