De locatie is goed bereikbaar met de fiets en auto en natuurlijk lopend kan ook. De parkeergelegenheid voor auto's is beperkt, er zijn slechts enkele parkeerplaatsen aan de voorzijde van de volkstuintjes. Op de volkstuintjes zelf komen is verboden dit is priveterrein, maar als je zelf een tuintje hebt mag het natuurlijk wel.
Heel veel mensen zijn hier dagelijks om hun tuintje te onderhouden en zie je ze hier aan hun tuintje bezig zijn. Er zijn superveel verschillende soorten tuintjes met allemaal soorten groente en fruit die ze verbouwen. Maar de bijenkasten mogen hierbij ook niet missen, Hier zie je dan ook erg veel bijen rondvliegen, dus als je allergisch bent voor bijen zou dit geen geschikte plek zijn om te gaan geocachen. Hier loopt een stromend slootje langs waar ze water uit halen voor de planten. Vaak als er te veel geoogst is aan groente en fruit dan word het natuurlijk niet weggegooit, maar word het aan familie of de buren gegeven.XD
kapkool is een recept van Urk. Een maaltijd om van te smullen! Kapkool is een winterse stamppot uit Urk met witte kool, aardappels,stoofpeertjes, uien, en spekjes.het word ook vaak gegeten met gerookte vis. vissersmannen moeten door weer en wind de zee op, om het geld binnen te brengen. Ze hadden deze stevige stamppot dan ook wel nodig.Als het eiland in de winter dicht gevroren lag, moesten de dames het doen met wat er nog in huis was, vaak maakten ze dan deze kapkool omdat de ingredienten best lang houdbaar zijn.

Here is a flowing ditch where they get water for the plants. Often when too much has been harvested from fruit and vegetables, it is of course not thrown away, but given to family or neighbors. XD
kapkool is a recipe from Urk. A meal to enjoy! Kapkool is a winter stew from Urk with white cabbage, potatoes, stewed pears, onions and bacon. It is also often eaten with smoked fish. fishermen have to go to sea by wind and weather to bring in the money. They needed this sturdy stew. If the island was frozen over in winter, the ladies had to make do with what was still in the house, often they made this cabbage because the ingredients have a long shelf life.
