Welcome to Heaton War Memorial, which is situated within Heaton Baptist Graveyard

This Victorian graveyard was first instituted in 1824. There are over 1100 graves, and, according to the register, 8630 people have been interred since 1868, the last burial taking place in 2007. The graveyard is also the resting place of several thousand paupers and their children, buried in communal graves of which there are no records. The graveyard is currently in the care of members of the
