Geocache Description:

18 July 2020, 08:30 - 09:00

Please join us for a fun day on the lake! After being cooped up inside for a while, this will be a great time to come out and get reacquainted at a distance! We will be redoing the paddle caches here for a geoart and will also have others on land in the surrounding area for those without boats.

Elmer Davis Lake is located in Owen County just outside of Owenton off Highways 22 and 127. A paved launching ramp is available to provide access to the 133 surface acre lake owned by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. The lake was built in 1958 and opened to public fishing in 1960. Fish species present include largemouth bass, bluegill, longear sunfish, redear sunfish, warmouth, black crappie, white crappie, green sunfish, channel catfish and black bullhead.

Let's meet near the boat ramp at 8:30 a.m. to sign the log (optional)and meet fellow paddle mixers. Please remember to bring plenty of water and pack a lunch if you are paddling. Also don't forget the hand sanitizer and sunscreen! At 9:00 a.m. we'll head out on the water.

IMPORTANT NOTE - PLEASE READ! Please understand that this event may need to be rescheduled if the current proposed phases of government recommendations for reopening in Kentucky change. Also, all participants at this event will need to maintain proper social distancing requirements of 6 feet between each other and be mindful that events in the near term cannot be held in the same way as they were before the pandemic.
