Geocache Description:

The Sutton at Hone War Memorial is situated in the Churchyard of St John the Baptist Church, Church Lane, Sutton-at-Hone.

It records the names of the men from Sutton-at-Hone and Hawley (or with family connections to the village) who died in the Great War, and the men and women who died in World War Two. The men are listed alphabetically, with no rank or regiment shown. The women who died in World War Two are shown with their christian and surnames, to differentiate them from the men.

People have left info about some of the men on the memorial. A couple of them can be seen above.

The co-ords should take you to a map of the churchyard. The below info can be got from it. Fill in the number of letters in the missing words.

Update 14/12/21: The map has now gone but the below info can still be found on the info sheets that have replaced it.

A Plum (P not W), B Campion, Grey Squirrel C Rabbit, Spotted D, Lady's E or F (smaller first), Field G-H-J, August 189C.

Now go to the war memorial itself which is to your right. There is a number to the left of Daisy Wright, KLMN.

A magnetic film pot can be found a short walk away at:

N51 24. A-K N-J F-G

E0 13. E+H B-D N-C
