9:30 am to 10:00 am
Welcome to the Kirtland's Warbler GeoTrail (KWGT) Launch. This trail will take you in a loop in central Northern Michigan through the Jack Pine ecosystem, breeding home of the Kirtland's Warbler. This tour takes you to a total of 25 caches with an amazing trackable geocoin as a reward (100 available).
The KWGT Passport can be found here: https://f81c572e-1d95-4026-befc-8c60f69cbcd9.filesusr.com/ugd/31e003_f30cd9f3e87e4ade973d5efd1f8f45bd.pdf
Starting at 9:30 am, you will be able to pick up a KWGT Passport, a cache coordinates sheet, and have an opportunity to ask questions about the KWGT. At 10:00, everyone can disperse to start on the trail.
Social distancing rules will be followed, and wear a mask around other people. Since the event has been moved to the parking lot, a one way line to pick up materials (by the blue Honda CR-V) can be formed.
The cache order on the Passport is the suggested order to do the KWGT.
Arraingements can be made to meet and turn in your completed Passport later in the day at the Gahagan Nature Preserve parking lot to get your KWGT geocoin.
Please be respectful of the area, and do not go beyond any posted breeding habitat signs.
