Happy Birthday to Geocaching - and to me!
To celebrate 20 years of geocaching and many years of life, and to get out of the house, let's do a CITO!
We are meeting at the Van Hoosen Township Park at 11321 Aboite Center Road in Southwest Fort Wayne. Our planned CITO areas are the Environmental Center south of the park, the Vann Family Trail north of the park along Eggeman, and Indian Trails Park, about 1/2 mile east of Van Hoosen.
In order to comply with best practices for social distancing, this CITO will encompass three seperate areas within walking distance of waypoint. Assignments will be staggered for location and timing. Please continue to use social distancing if you encounter others on the trails.
Please bring masks and gloves to use as a part of your participation. Picker-upper thingeys, too! If you are not comfortable wearing mask and gloves, please attend a different celebration. If you feel ill or have been recently exposed to COVID-19, please do not attend. No one involved in the planning or execution of this CITO has any responsibility for your health; only you. AND, we all want to stay healthy to cache all year!
The township is providing trash bags. We will be targeting trash and garlic mustard. To participate in after-cleanup 'distant' socializing, please bring your own lawn chair. Snacks will be pre-packaged items. All the other niceties I had hoped to include are dispensed with due to COVID-19. You should, however, get a virtual spring CITO souvenir and a new icon on your found caches list.
It is with great contemplation that this CITO has been scheduled. Please make it COVID-safe, and come celebrate!
