Welcome to the Karick Lake Hike Community Celebration Event! For this event, we'd like to get together safely during COVID and enjoy the outdoors. First and foremost, please plan to attend with a facemask during the opening portion where we will get together and sign the event log and swap travel bugs and stories. Following that, if you and your family choose to hike, we will separate into small groups of family/friends and do the 3 mile loop (facemasks at your discretion).
Please note: It's against the guidelines to have a hike as a part of the event. The entire event has to take place at the posted coordinates. So if you choose to hike, it'll be part of the "after event party" of this event.
If you've not cached the Karick Lake loop, you're in for a treat- plenty of regular sized ammo cans and Letter boxes! Please note that sunset is at 4:46 PM so you will need to start your hike appropriately.
Additionally, I will bring a few extra cache containers I have been collecting over the years to hand out for those who are interested in placing their own cache. Think PB jars and the like.
Karick Lake is a State Forest and as such there is a small fee for parking if you do not possess an annual pass. They do not take cash anymore, you have to purchase a day pass ($2/person, 6 & under free) or annual pass ($45) online. QR codes at the entrance provide the website so you can do it on your smart phone day of or ahead of time here: Reserve America - Karick Lake Day Use Pass
