Restoration at the LAX Dunes!
Please join us for The Santa Monica Bay Foundation's monthly restoration event at the LAX Dunes! The Dunes is home to a variety of unique plants and animals. Come volunteer to help remove non-native and invasive vegetation, learn more about this historic site, and earn this season's CITO souvenir! Since 2015, The Bay Foundation, Friends of the LAX Dunes, and Los Angeles World Airports, along with thousands of volunteers have worked to restore, enhance, and protect this unique habitat.
LAX Dunes (Waterview Gate Across From Park)

Free street parking available along Waterview Street and carpooling is recommended.
Because this is a large and private location, let's gather at Triangle Park first and walk in together because the Foundation typically locks the gate when all volunteers have arrived. Please log a "Will Attend" so that we know who/how many people to look out for. Volunteers should also register on the Foundation's Event Page (register as a member of the West LA Geocachers group) so that staff know how many people to expect and waiver forms will be available on the day of the event. Minors must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
End Time: Although the Foundation's event ends at 11:30 AM, our CITO will end at 11 AM (when our energy typically runs out) and arrangements will be made for early departure.
Provided: Gloves and tools. Picnic tables and portable restroom facilities available on site.
What to bring: Water, snacks, and closed-toed shoes.
