Geocache Description:

What a decade! Numbers 2010 to 2019 in the Little Bridges Series are puzzling Letterbox Hybrids that reflect on events of the last decade. There is a bonus- Little Bridge #2020 - if you grab them all! The bridges are dotted around Backwell, Nailsea, Wraxall and Long Ashton.

You will need to physically visit each bridge- some of the bridges for the numbers for the coordinates, and some of the bridges for the numbers for the bonus. This is clearly marked out on each cache page.

There is bonus information for each Little Bridge - either at the bridge or in/on the cache- which you will need to collect to work out the coordinates for the bonus, Little Bridge #2020.

The events aren’t in chronological order: they’re in coordinate-gathering-numerical order!

‘__ day of month’ refers to the date number that an event occurred on. For example the 1 Day of January would mean that the corresponding letter (in red) would equal 1 in the formula.

For this bridge, #2012, you will need to work out the numbers from the events listed below; the final hide is not at the bridge. You will also need to visit the bridge itself to get the information for the coordinates. The bonus information is a three digit number engraved on the base of the cache itself.

* Diamond Jubilee celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II began on the A day of February 2012; exactly 60 years since she was coronated.

* The 2012 Olympics were held in London- the first time since 1948. The total number of medals won by Team GB at the games were 6B.

* Korean musician PSY releases his song Gangnam Style on YouTube on the 1C day of July, which becomes the first video to reach one billion views.

* Remains were discovered in a car park that were later discovered to be those of of King Richard III. The number of letters in the city of the discovery = D

* The 2012 phenomenon was based around an apparent Mayan prediction that the world was to end on the December 2E 2012- which turned out not to happen!

At the bridge itself, the number of horizontal planks that make up the walkway = FG

N51° 26. (A-B) D (C+G)
W002° 44. (E+F) A D

There is a small stamp in each of the caches, in order for it to qualify as a Letterbox Hybrid. This is NOT a swap item and MUST remain in the cache. Each stamp is a different design and you’ll need to bring your own ink if you intend to use it. Thank you!

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast. There is a stats listing run by Bloodsock, so you can see how many Little Bridges you have found, you can find it here:- https://littlebridgesseries.wordpress.com/ . If you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan on stanthews@aol.com and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xxxx then the name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to stats list.
