Looking for milestone-dates in Malaysia that would make this Community Celebration Event our own, the placement of Malaysia's first geocache, on this day, exactly 20 years ago, unequivocally counts as one of the most significant, as it marks the start of geocaching in Malaysia. No less than 1361 caches have been published since, of which 657 actively lay in wait, ready to be found at a moment's notice!
About the event
This event is a straight forward meet-and-greet for geocachers in the Kuala Lumpur area. The event takes place under the open and well-ventilated glass canopy at Lake Gardens, from 16:00 to 18:00.
At the time of writing, the Movement Control Order (MCO) restrictions to combat Covid-19 are still in effect, and are likely to remain in place for some time to come. It is expected that the situation will improve favourably by the time this event takes place, and that Malaysia will re-enter the recovery phase (RMCO). SOP; social distancing and the use of a mouth mask, remain highly recommended!
Important: An assessment of ongoing restrictions will take place prior to the event. Should conditions prevent this event to proceed, an announcement will be made and this event will be cancelled!

This Community Celebration Event is part of a limited release of events created between February and November, 2020. Every month, 2020 events were be distributed, providing 20,200 geocachers with the opportunity to host a Community Celebration Event between 2 May, 2020 and 31 December, 2022.
