I have capped event attendance as of August 18, 202. No new will attends will be accepted.
ALL ATTENDEES WILL BE EXPECTED TO WEAR A MASK for the safety of your self and others. If you do not want to wear a mask please skip this event.
It is our hope that by September we will be able to get together for events. In that hope we are listing this event.
For the time being this event will be limited to the first 40 people who send in a will attend. Please add the number of people in your group. If this changes before September we will look at it again.
The event will run from 11:00 AM until 1 PM.
The majority of the way to the event site is on the Bow Corridor Link Trail (aka TransCanada Trail), then a little crossback up to the bunker. We will be at the bunker to meet everyone.
Keep in mind that the ambient temperature will be significantly lower in this area than in the city, especially with the wind chill; however, the trail is well protected from wind and the temperature in the cave is very pleasant by comparison. Dressing in layers is highly recommended, as well as appropriate footwear. It is a 2km – 3km round trip hike, with moderate elevation gain. The trails are well maintained in this area.
Bring your own chair to sit and enjoy lunch by the cave and of course your own lunch. No food establishments here. A flashlight or headlamp if you plan to explore the cave would be beneficial. At this time the food services will be totally pack in what you would like and pack out all the left overs.
We will be practising Leave No Trace Eventing. What you bring in you must take back out with you.
Bonus: Cold Cache (GCR06W) is an unknown type of geocache with the final near the cave.
