Geocache Description:

14 March 2021, 16:00 - 18:00

What: Celebrating International Pi Day, by eating Pie, at a lovely spot along the river.

When: Sunday, 03/14/21, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Why: Because, pie!

I hope you can join us, for a relaxing afternoon of schmoozing, and pie eating, along the backwaters of the St Johns River. Kayakers will have no problem getting to the event. It's only about a mile and a half, as the manatee swims. If you wish to paddle, but find yourself boatless, I have a few extra boats, I can loan you. Just let me know, and we'll meet at the end of Highbanks Rd, by 3:30pm, and we will head out. If you would like to attend, but do not want to paddle, I have a couple dedicated volunters, who will be shuttling folks, back and forth, in small motorboats.

There are no picnic tables, pavillions, gazeebos, or any other amenities out there, other than a really nice view, so you will need to bring any necessary comfort items, such as a tablecloth to lay on, and / or a lawn chair, to sit in. You may also want to bring your favorite beverage, and some bug spray. I will be bringing a small cooler, with some drinks, but since I can't guess everyone's tastes, this cooler may not contain anything you are willing to drink. I am also bringing a small grill, some hot dogs to burn, buns, and condiments. If you think of something which may compliment my burnt hotdogs, please bring enough to share.

On to the pies!

Because March 14th is International Pi Day, our main focus will be on pies! Your choices are to bring your favorite homemade pie, bring your favorite store bought pie, or simply eat the pie which other folks have brought. Personally, I hope you pick the first one, as I really love homemade pie, but no one will hate on you, if you don't. I will have bowls, forks, napkins, and a few knives, for pie cutting, so all you need to bring, are the pies, themselves. Since there is no electricity, you may want to transport your pie, in a cooler.

Hope to see you there!
