Geocache Description:

13 December 2020, 11:00 - 15:00

Come and join us for an extra special 'community celebration' end of year Christmas BBQ                                                                                                                                                                                                     *LOTS OF GEOCACHING CHATTER, FUN & FRIVOLITY *  A SHARED BBQ LUNCH * & A PREZZIE SWAP*

WHEN AND WHERE :-

Sunday 13th December from 11 a.m until 3 p.m.

At Rattll's farm - 159B Whangaehu Beach Rd, Whangaehu (near Wanganui). If you've already done "Smileyville", you'll already know where it is.

Continue on down this gravel driveway for about 1.3 ks. Parking will be in the front paddock by the old house, although this is now fenced it can still be accessed at the usual point (at the sign). You can then walk on up to the house on the left (about 100mts). We ask that EVERYONE park here unless we've given prior dispensation. If you have a lot to carry, or someone with you who is unable to walk the 100mts or so, you may do a' drop off' at the house and then park back at the parking area.

WHAT  TO  BRING:-

Food for the shared BBQ (disposable cutlery, cups, plates etc will be provided), drinks (a small amount of alcohol's fine too - after all, it is Christmas)

Be aware, we do have a very shallow pond, it does mean that the very young geocachers will need to be well supervised, but it is in the same area as the BBQ etc so there will be plenty of eyes to keep an eye on things. However, there will be a paddling pool for the young geocachers and the desperately hot older cachers!

We love having younger geocachers here to join in the fun, however, we do ask that they are well supervised by their caregivers throughout the afternoon.

Optional: A wrapped present around the $10 value. (anonymous). These can be placed in the "sleigh" on arrival & will be handed out during the afternoon. Otherwise be sure to choose one before you leave. If you wish, you may bring more than one present, as long as you take out the same number as you put in.

Nothing that will melt in the hot December sun please  i.e. chocolates.

As with previous years, there will be a christmas decoration for your tree ( this years will mark the 'community celebration'  event ), and there will be christmas themed pet rocks for those who would like one and have attended the event today.

And If she'll keep still long enough, you can "discover" Tess the geodog.

N.B - Just a 'heads up' to anyone planning to do some caching in the Wanganui area before the xmas event, all going to plan, we are hoping to activate an adventure lab cache and bonus cache in the morning, before the event.
We have opted to release it prior to the event to help those who are intending to head for home straight after the event, and to help spread the sudden attention this spot will gain, thus reducing the risk of compromising the hide.
As far as we're concerned, you are welcome to share the ftf's as long as attendee's find them on the 13th (if there's such a thing as a shared ftf on a lab cache?). I guess that's not an option if a non-attendee finds it first!
