Join us for a Community Celebration Event in beautiful Morro Bay. We have the venue's outer tables reserved to enjoy good libations & food available for purchase (not required to purchase to attend). Can share your geocaching stories and watch sea lions and otters patrol the Morro Bay inlet at this scenic location, in the shadow of Morro Rock. Or just kick back and listen/dance to live music.
Because of the concern with COVID-19, we ask that any geocachers not feeling up to this event to STAY HOME and not attend.
In your will attend log, please indicate the size of your party? Because of the logistics entailed to host an event such as this, please post your will attend log no later than June 4, so the location host is provided an accurate number of attendees.
This should prove to be a morro rocking good time on a beautiful summer day at the bay. Sea Lion and Otter spotting are a popular activity in Morro Bay at this venue. Dress accordingly (pirate attire is optional but strongly encouraged)! Kudos to Jbird and Zip and TheDrGene for their assistance to make this geocaching event possible. Also special thanks to Capt Mark for allowing such scruvy swashbuckling cachers to hang out on a Saturday afternoon.

Community Celebration Events - 2020
This Event is part of a limited release of Community Celebration Events to celebrate 20 years of geocaching. Geocachers hosted events between May 2, 2020 and December 31, 2020. Learn more about Community Celebration Events on the Geocaching Blog.
As the Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) situation is evolving rapidly around the world, Geocaching HQ urges all Event hosts and attendees to prioritize the safety of themselves and their attendees.
At this time, we advise Event hosts to consult their regional health authorities to understand the guidance regarding gatherings of people. Generally, Geocaching HQ leaves the decision to Event hosts on whether to continue hosting the Event and to attendees on whether they will participate. In some regions, community volunteer reviewers may suspend publishing new geocaches, including Events and/or may disable, retract, or archive already published Events, in accordance with guidance from health authorities.
We want to allow flexibility for hosts who need to reschedule their published Community Celebration Events due to COVID-19 concerns. If hosts wish to reschedule their Community Celebration Event:
- Create an Announcement log to notify users that the Event is cancelled and may be rescheduled.
- Disable the Community Celebration Event.
- Contact the publishing reviewer to retract the Event.
- Update the Event date.
- Submit listing for publication.
We understand it can be very disappointing to miss the connections that are made at Events. But please remember that geocaching is a location-based game, and locationless Events or virtual logging of Events are not permitted by the Geocaching guidelines. HQ appreciates that the community is so strong that players want to keep in touch virtually and we encourage doing so using other online platforms.
