Discovered this bridge just the other day. It tucked away but on a public footpath. Unfortunately, the footpath doesn’t show up on geocaching.com map so I’ve included a mini map so you don’t get lost and given the co-ordinates of a suitable place to start. They are N 51° 19.598' W 002° 30.605'
Parking available in the local housing estate in Parklands or Sixpence (nearest to trailhead). The public footpath comes out on Hayeswood Road opposite a farm entrance.
Please wear suitable footwear as the fields are muddy and can be boggy at times. Its best to keep to the edges of the field rather than go directly across. You will spot the yellow footpath arrow sign on approach to the little bridge.
I think this could make a nice circular walk with caches in this order (approximately 3km)
Little Bridges # 1786 Kingwell #1, Kingwell #2 Redwood, Kingwell #3 Hayeswood
The A39 #3 – Royal Oak, The A39 #2 – Cuckoo, The A39 #1 - Scumbrum
Rotcombe – High Littleton
Cache is a small tube with flat metal lid. Its hidden but also in plain sight! Please bring your own pen/pencil, you might need tweezers too and replace as found.
The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast. There is a stats listing run by Billiethecat, so you can see how many Little Bridges you have found, you can find it here:- https://littlebridgesseries.wordpress.com/ . If you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan on stanthews@aol.com and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xxxx then the name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to stats list.
