Leap Day Breakfast

Leap Day occurs every four years. When February 29th is on the calendar, it is called a Leap Year. A leap day is observed because the Earth’s period of orbital revolution around the Sun takes approximately 6 hours longer than 365 whole days. Leap Day is added to the calendar in leap years as a corrective measure because the earth does not orbit the sun in precisely 365 days. Leap years are those that are divisible by 4, such as 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024 etc.
