As part of the Geocaching 20th Anniversary we want to celebrate and shall have another get together. Usually we have these semi-occasional events in the Bogue Chitto, Mississippi area, but due to the need to keep spread out and still have a covered area to sit down and relax with friends we have moved this event down the road to Percy Quin State Park.
This will be your first opportunity in a decade to log the infamous Lost and Found Event Cache - redesigned with a new icon for 2020!
WHERE: Percy Quin State Park - Picnic Pavilion #4
WHEN: Saturday, June 20, 2020 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM
There is a $4.00 per vehicle admission fee to enter the park with up to 6 people in the vehicle. There is an additional 50 cents for each person over 6 in the vehicle.
- I shall provide cold cuts and the fixings to snack on along with paper plates.
- Please provide your own drinks.
- I shall also bring some chips, cookies or other snacks.
- Please be sure to post your will attend so I can estimate how many to provide for.
The pavilion has electricity but does not have a barbeque or running water. It is located directly in front of the Lodge/Office. I will bring one electric fan since this is Mississippi in the summer time. It would be nice if a couple more would be brought.
While we are there, feel free to:
- Share with us what is on your "wish-list" for the 20th anniversary celebration this year and in 2021.
- Tell the group about your favorite geocaching experience, and your most embarrassing!
- Bring geocoins, pathtags and trackables for others to discover or to trade.
- Be sure to sign in on the door prize list to get your number for the 12:30 P.M. drawing.
- If you haven't cached in the area lately, there are many new geocaches scattered around and you don't have to spend all day trekking in the swamp to find them.
