"May 2, 2000: Or as geocachers call it, Blue Switch Day. This is the day the United States government removed selective availability on civilian GPS receivers, therefore enabling the accuracy of GPS technology to improve tenfold" part of the spiel initially given from HQ for Celebration Events.
EVERYONE LOVES A 21ST (and a new venue)
WHERE ; TONSLEY INNOVATION DISTRICT is open to the community and provides under cover areas, many tables and seating, bike repair station, table tennis tables and even a forest to explore. You could even book a 24 hr squash court if you are feeling inclined.
Toilets may NOT be open due to COVID restrictions. CAFES will be closed.
Due to the nature of the facility, a specific pod/table area cannot be booked in advance. GZ is near section B9, the University building and the road, MAB Eastern Promenade. Look for the balloons and 21st theme decorations set up at the biggest area available on the day.
WATCH OUT FOR THE SKATERS/SCOOTERS!!!
WHEN ; SUNDAY MAY 2, 2021 (Rain, Hail or Shine - area is mostly undercover)
4.00pm to 6.00pm
WHAT ; 21st Party theme with COVID friendly refreshments , bottles of water, cans soft drink, packaged snacks and cupcakes etc BYO table tennis bat/ball and/or comfy chair for an extended stay.
The 21st card/logbook will be found in the care of Matt and his Cat. A fabulous statue many wont realise can be found locally. A different, yet appropriate techy type place to gather and celebrate I thought. And thats what geocaching is to me, opportunities to explore, see different things, meet different people and have fun!! HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY !!
Logging a 'will attend' will help immensely with catering, even on the day will be helpful. Thanks.
Please complete the government guest book aka COVID checkin sheet, practice safe distancing and please stay home if you are unwell.
