Geocache Description:

22 August 2020, 12:00 - 16:00

WHAT - BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH AND DRINKS IF YOU WANT ANYTHING OTHER THAN BOTTLED WATER  --- I have some games picked out to play that can be safely done while social distancing  ------- UPDATE ON NEW CACHES -  there will be 13 new geocaches released in the area around 9:00 am. Most are on the RVT between St. Charles and Climax - if you are there at 9 am and want to download them you MUST find a high point where you can get cell service. There is almost no cell service reception on that section of the Redbank Valley Trail.

WHEN - Saturday, Aug 22, 2020, noon until 4 pm EDT

WHERE - the large pavilion (has electric) at Madison Township Community Park, near the village of Tidal, Armstrong County, PA. There is plenty of room for social distancing.

DIRECTIONS - Please enter/exit the park through the waypointed entrance on T490/Hawkville Rd/Collingwood Rd (it has many names) and NOT through the cemetery next door even though some maps show it as a road.

BRING - Your own lunch. Bring your own drinks if you want something other than bottled water. I'll provide plates, cups, napkins, garbage bags, eating utensils, and bottled water.  Also bring TBs or personal signature items to share/trade.

THE PARK & NEARBY - the park has a portajohn, playground equipment, cement basketball court, baseball field, & horseshoe pits (bring your own sports equipment). There are a gas station/pizza/deli/convenience store and an ice cream stand 2 miles away in the village of Widnoon.

GEOCACHES - 1) There are about 300 within 3-4 miles of the event, including a 5/5 (GC3VT8F). Cell service is spotty in this area so come prepared with your caches downloaded offline or bring a GPSr.   2) HOPEFULLY I will get a few new caches put out nearby to be published that morning. I'll post an announcement if that is going to happen. UPDATE - 13 new caches will be published at 9 am (see top of description for details)  3) By then my new Adventure Lab should be up and running in nearby New Bethlehem. UPDATE - my AL is up and running.   4) If you are coming real early to cache and have food that must be kept hot/cold contact me and you can drop it at my house (2 miles away) prior to 11 am.

DOGS - Friendly ones are permitted, but please clean up any poop that happens and put in a trash barrel away from the picnic tables (or throw it in the woods).

BIG RIGS - The event grounds are not accessible to tractor trailers, but if you wish to attend please contact me in advance. You can park at the municipal building in Widnoon and someone will pick you up.

You will earn a special icon for your profile and a special souvenir for attending this event to celebrate 20 years of geocaching.
