Big Tancook Island's Community Celebration Event
ALL COVID PROTOCALS IN PLACE ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT WILL BE ENFORCED, ANY ONE NOT OBEYING THESE PROTOCOLS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY. FACE MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE FERRY TRIP AND TO ENTER THE REC CENTER. HAND SANITIZER WILL BE AVAILABLE ON SITE.
Big Tancook island is a very unique place and the closest place that I have to a home town. Come and celebrate it with me. If the weather is favourable, the event will be held outside in the large field adjacent to the Rec Center. I have rented the Rec Centre for the day in case the weather is inclement.
Do not try to get the cache on Little Tancook as the ferry is not docked long enough to get it and you will be spending the day on Little Tancook.
There is no food or water available on the island. The Rec Center has indoor facilities and an out house. There is limited off grid camping, complete with an outhouse and a fire pit available at no cost (a donation to Wishing Stones would be nice). PM me if you would like to camp on the island.
The Ferry schedule is at this link https://chester.ca/transportation/tancook-ferry With the COVID restrictions, the ferry can only carry 36 people per trip. If possible, I suggest that you make other arrangements to get to the island. I have permission to use some private docking spaces. PM me for the coords.
Hope to see you there.
