A chance to catch up with fellow geocachers in your local area, go for a beach walk or find some caches around the headland.
The park here has some picnic tables, toilets and plenty of parking. I'd recommend you bring a hat as there is no shaded area to sit plus your own chair. I'll be bringing at least one shade tent and a table or two. There arn't many cafe's nearby so you will need to be self sufficient if needing a coffee or sustanence.
Cache container swap at about 3pm. If you would like to participate please construct a cache container of any size that meets guidelines (I.e. waterproof, durable, and contains a new logbook, see https://www.geocaching.com/play/hide) and is wrapped to be a surprise. We can draw participant names out of a hat and they can get a cache to hide luck dip style. Lets agree to hide them within a month;
Other than just catching up here are some other reasons to attend an event:
- Maybe you need help with a particular cache - you might meet the CO right here to ask directly or there will be another cacher who has done the cache you are struggling with so can give you a more direct hint.
- You cant resist talking caching and your family is sick of it already - we do it too
- You might find yourself making plans for a caching day trip together with new or old friends
- to get motivated to go caching!
- Travel bug swaps.
