War Memorial #209 ~ Biggleswade
The memorial stands in the Market Square in the centre of Biggleswade. The memorial takes the form of a Celctic Cross mounted on a plinth with the World War 1 names around the plinth. Two additional tablets have been added at the base of the cross and bear further names for World War 2 and Malaya. There are 172 names for World War 1, 32 for World War 2 and 2 for the Malayan Emergency. The memorial was initially unveiled by Mr S Howard Whitbread on 24th April 1921.
