Geocache Description:


War Memorial #209 ~ Biggleswade

The memorial stands in the Market Square in the centre of Biggleswade. The memorial takes the form of a Celctic Cross mounted on a plinth with the World War 1 names around the plinth. Two additional tablets have been added at the base of the cross and bear further names for World War 2 and Malaya. There are 172 names for World War 1, 32 for World War 2 and 2 for the Malayan Emergency. The memorial was initially unveiled by Mr S Howard Whitbread on 24th April 1921.

This is a multi cache and IS NOT at the published coordinates.

The cache is a 2ml tube.

 

To find the cache:

At the published coordinates you will find a marker to do with Scouting in Biggleswade. Check out the side which starts with the words 'Erected to'.

The first year on the bottom line of text is ABCD.

The second year on the bottom line of text is EFGH.
