Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) is an environmental initiative supported by the geocaching community. Since 2002, CITO has helped preserve the natural beauty of cache-friendly spaces. In that time, more than 363,000 people have volunteered at 18,000 CITO events.
Recycling is good for the environment as it:
- Reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators
- Conserves natural resources such as timber, water and minerals
- Increases economic security by tapping a domestic source of materials
- Prevents pollution by reducing the need to collect new raw materials
- Saves energy
- Reduces harmful toxins that are released into the air.

To earn the souvenir/log the event :
- Attend event on 30 November and bring glass and/or plastic and/or paper
- OR
- From 23 - 30 November 2019 post a pic of yourself depositing your recycleable material
- Where : Builders Warehouse, Elliot centre or nearest recycling bin
