Geocache Description:

Cooleman Ridge lies on rocks created in a massive volcanic eruption about 420 million years ago, valled the Laidlaw Volcanics. The rocks may look like granite, but are a volcanic equivalent; a very coarse-grained rhyodactic ignimbrite. There are some quite large examples of this rock type dotted around the ridge, but this is not one of them. It is however, a lovely spot on Cooleman ridge to contemplate the vista.  Marvellous views of mountains and rolling hills, green fields and perhaps a grazing horse or roo.  Often wedge-tailed eagles can be seen patrolling the valley.

Easily accessed via the BNT, or come down from the ridge via Little Reservoir Fire Trail (note this route is quite steep and can be a bit loose underfoot).

Please byo pen, room for small swaps
