Ecuador

Different ecosystems in Ecuador permit different coffee cultures to occur all over the country, including in the Galápagos Islands.
Ecuador became famous for growing beans that made great instant coffee, still a staple in many Ecuadorian households. While large plantations still exist, recent coffee production is turning to smaller, family run farms and specialty beans.
The amazing biodiversity of the region and richness of its volcanic soils allow Ecuador to grow the best tasting coffee in the world. This according to an Ecuadoria web site.
Exports of soluble coffee, have fallen by 50 percent in the last few years. The lack of competitiveness in the production of industrialized coffee is mainly related to prohibitively high costs and erratic supply of electricity and water and high transportation and wage costs.
