About SideTracked Caches

This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at the SideTracked Website

About Humberstone Station

Not to be confused with Humberstone Road station, this was the next stop on the Great Northern branch line after Belgrave Road Station. It was where you would queue up on a wooden platform to catch a summer holiday special to Mablethorpe or Skegness, if Belgrave Road was too crowded.

The station, with its memorable wooden platform, was at the junction of Uppingham Road and St Barnabas Road, not far from St Barnabas Church.

It closed to regular services in 1953 but remained open to summer weekend specials until 1962.

NOTE - just opposite the cache there is a building marked 1882, this is the old station masters house
