Minimundus - die kleine Welt am Wörthersee
Minimundus ist ein Miniaturenpark in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee in Kärnten, Österreich, und zeigt auf einem 26.000 m⊃2; großen Gelände 156 Miniaturmodelle von bekannten Bauwerken vieler Kontinente im Maßstab von 1:25. Nur das bereits im Jahr 1959 errichtete Modell der Burg Hochosterwitz und das des Passagierschiffes RMS Queen Mary, es wäre mit 12,43 Meter zu lang für den Teich, wurden in einem kleineren Maßstab gebaut.
Seit seiner Eröffnung im Jahr 1958 besuchten mehr als 15 Millionen Menschen den Park. Der Reinerlös fließt der Hilfsorganisation Rettet das Kind für notleidende Kinder in Kärnten zu, die der Eigentümer des Parks ist. Seit 2003 war das seit 1977 bestehende Planetarium im Sommer ausschließlich über Minimundus zu betreten, diese Kooperation lief aber 2007 aus.
Über ein Drittel der 156 Modelle (Stand 2014) zeigen Bauwerke von eher regionaler Bedeutung aus Österreich. Die übrigen decken die bedeutendsten Wahrzeichen bedingt repräsentativ ab. Auf die Pyramiden und die Sphinx, mit denen Minimundus im Logo wirbt, wurde verzichtet. 2015 expandierte Minimundus sein Monumenten-Kontingent.
Für den Bau der meisten Modelle werden Originalmaterialien (Sandstein, Tuffstein, Stahl etc.) verwendet. Nachdem der Gebäudekern aus Stahlbeton gegossen wurde, mauern Modellbauer die einzelnen, zugeschnittenen Steine auf. Die Figuren an den Gebäuden sind geschnitzt, wie etwa die Apostel auf der Frontfassade des Petersdoms. Die meisten Modelle sind transportabel gebaut und werden während der Winterpause des Parks an verschiedenen Orten ausgestellt.

Since its opening in 1958, more than 15 million people have visited the park. The net proceeds go to the aid organization Save the child for needy children in Carinthia, which is the owner of the park. Since 2003, the planetarium, which has been in existence since 1977, was exclusively accessible via Minimundus in the summer, but this cooperation expired in 2007.
Over a third of the 156 models (as of 2014) show buildings of more regional significance from Austria. The rest cover the most important landmarks conditionally representative. The pyramids and the sphinx, with which Minimundus advertises in the logo, have been omitted. In 2015, Minimundus expanded its monumental contingent.
For the construction of most models original materials (sandstone, tufa, steel, etc.) are used. After the core of the building was cast in reinforced concrete, modelers wall up the individual, cut stones. The figures on the buildings are carved, such as the apostles on the front facade of St. Peter's. Most of the models are transportable and will be displayed in different locations during the winter break of the park.

Solltest du keinen Eintritt zahlen wollen, kannst du das Foto auch gerne an Stage 1 durch den Zaun machen.
