The Pantheon in Rome is one of the few architectural marvels that has survived intact from the Ancient World. Originally commissioned by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of the emperor Augustus, it was destroyed and rebuilt several times before Hadrian completed the final structure you see before you today. Prior to the rise of Christianity, it was used as the temple of "all the gods" (Pan-Theon), but was repurposed as a church in AD 609 by Pope Boniface IV, an act that played a large part in its survival to the modern day. From the Renaissance, it became the burial site for historical luminaries including Raphael, Vittorio Emanuele II, and Arcangelo Corelli, It is one of the best preserved monuments of humanity's ancient past, and is visited by over 6 million people annualy.
While it may seem odd that two geocachers from around the world in Singapore have used their Virtual Reward in Italy, we were so moved when visiting this site that we felt that a Virtual Cache was almost mandatory here, and also wanted to point out a fascinating connection between the Ancient and Modern, a gossamer thread between us and you, the Present and the Past.
To claim this virtual cache, you must visit the Pantheon and perform the following tasks:
1. Visit Raphael's tomb, and find the wreath that is there. What is the name written in the centre of the wreath?
2. (this question is OPTIONAL) The Pantheon is known for holding an architectural record for more than 14 centuries. Today, this record is held by a structure in our home country -- Singapore (as of 2019). What is the name of this structure (LOCATED IN SINGAPORE)

3. Post a photo inside the Pantheon, showing yourself or your GPS device/smartphone.
