Das Schloss Vaduz, frueher auch Hohenliechtenstein genannt, liegt auf einer Felsterrasse rund 120 Meter ueber Vaduz, dem Hauptort des Fuerstentums Liechtenstein. Heute ist es Wahrzeichen des Ortes und Sitz des Fuerstenhauses Liechtenstein. Die Urspruenge des Schlosses liegen vermutlich im 12. Jahrhundert. Der Bergfried wurde wahrscheinlich als eine der ersten Bauten errichtet und spaeter durch einen Wohnturm ergaenzt. Dieser Wohnturm kann auf das Jahr 1287 datiert werden. Erstmals erwaehnt wird es 1322. In den Besitz des Hauses Liechtenstein kam es 1712 und diente unter dem Namen Hohenliechtenstein der Landvogtei als Sitz mit Dienstwohnungen im Westtrakt bis 1732. Danach verfiel es zunehmend, und erst von 1905 bis 1912 wurde es einer gruendlichen Renovation unterzogen und wiederhergestellt. Fuerst Franz Josef II. liess es dann spaeter ausbauen und bewohnbar machen Eine Besichtigung des Schlosses ist nicht moeglich, jedoch geben Fuehrungen in Vaduz interessante Einblicke ueber die Geschichte des Schlosses und des Fuerstenhauses.
Am Staatsfeiertag des Fuerstentums, dem 15. August, findet auf der Schlosswiese der Staatsakt statt: zuerst das Festhochamt – danach Ansprachen des Landesfuersten und des Landtagspraesidenten. Zumeist laedt die fuerstliche Familie die Bevoelkerung im Anschluss an den Staatsakt zu einem Aperitif im Schlossgarten ein. Dazu waren im letzten Jahr allerdings Tickets notwendig. Beim Feuerwerk zum Abschluss des Staatsfeiertages sieht man an der stadtseitigen Mauerfront die brennenden Buchstaben Für Gott, Fuerst und Vaterland und einen Feuerfall.
Das Schloss ist Privatbesitz der fuerstlichen Familie und kann deshalb von der Oeffentlichkeit NICHT besichtigt werden. Der regierende Landesfuerst empfaengt im Schloss Staatsgaeste und andere Besucher zu privaten Gespraechen. Bitte verhaltet euch auch dementsprechend vor Ort und haltet etwas Abstand, bzw. besucht das Schloss zu den normalen Tageszeiten.
Tipp: Es gibt eine App «LIstory», mit der man das Schloss Vaduz virtuell besuchen kann.

Um diesen Cache zu loggen, erfülle folgende Aufgaben:
1. Geht zu den Header Koordinaten
Zaehle die Zinnen auf der Mauer rechts von dir (vom Schloss kommend) = A
Wie heisst das zweite Wort auf dem Schild rechts am Schloss (erstes Wort mit D beginnend) = B
2. Geht anschliessend zum Referenzpunkt „Kaenzile“ und geniesst dort die Aussicht.
Schau dir dann die beiden mehrsprachigen Schilder in der Naehe genauer an.
Wieviele Kinder stehen auf der Tafel? = C
Seit wann ist das Schloss die staendige Residenz der Landesfuersten? = D
3. Mach zum Abschluss noch ein Foto vom Schloss mit dir und halte ein Papier/Zettel dazu, worauf das aktuelle Datum (optional) und dein Cachername oder Maskottchen (zwingend) steht. (Siehe Beispiel Foto) Achtet darauf das keine der Anworten auf dem Foto ersichtlich ist. Bitte generell keine Fotos von Gruppen, jeder Cacher/in mit eigenen Account ein separates Exemplar. Eure Gesichter koennt ihr unkenntlich machen, wenn ihr das moechtet. Einen guten Photo Point findet ihr in den Wegpunkten.
Nachtraeglich elektronisch hinzugefuegte Namen oder Maskottchen werden nicht akzeptiert. Ihr koennt natuerlich eure Hand beschriften oder ein Handydisplay statt Papier nutzen, achtet aber bitte darauf das es lesbar ist.

The Vaduz Castle, formerly known as Hohenliechtenstein, lies on a hillside 120 meters above Vaduz, the capital of the Principality of Liechtenstein. Today it is the landmark of the place and the seat of the Liechtenstein House. The origins of the castle probably date back to the 12th century. The keep was probably built as one of the first buildings and later supplemented by a residential tower. This residential tower can be dated to the year 1287. Vaduz Castle is first mentioned in documents dating back to 1322. The castle came into the ownership of the Princely Family in 1712 and the west wing served as the family's official residence until 1732. However, after that the building became increasingly dilapidated and fell into disrepair before being rebuilt and renovated between 1905 and 1912. On the state holiday of the Principality the 15th of August, the state ceremony takes place on the castle meadow: first the festival Highmass - afterwards speeches of the provincial governor and the president of the Parliament. For the most part, the local family invites the population to an aperitif in the castle garden following the state ceremony. However, tickets were needed last year. During the fireworks at the end of the state holiday, the burning letters for God, Prince and Fatherland and a firefall can be seen on the city-side wall.
The castle is a private property of the royal family and therefore can not be visited by the public. The reigning state leader welcomes public guests and other visitors to private discussions in the castle. Please behave accordingly on the spot and keep some distance and visit the castle at the normal times of the day. Tip: There is an App «LIstory», which makes it possible to visit the Vaduz Castle virtual.

Count the battlements on the wall to the right of you (coming from the castle) = A
What is the second word on the sign on the right side of the Castle (first word starting with D) = B
2. Go to the reference point "Kaenzile" and enjoy the view there.
Take a closer look at the two multilingual signs in the vicinity.
How many children are on the board? = C
Since when is the castle the permanent residence of the ruling princes? = D
3. Finally, take a picture of the castle with you and hold a piece of paper with the current date (optional) and your cache name or mascot (required). (See example photo) Make sure none of the answers are visible on the photo. Please generally no photos of groups, each cacher with own account a separate copy. You can make your faces unrecognizable, if desired. A good photo point can be found in the waypoints.
Later electronically added names or mascots will not be accepted. You can of course write on your hand or use a mobile phone display instead of paper, but please make sure it is legible.
