The village is situated 10km from Balafonfüred, near the Tihany-Peninsula. The number of the resident population is about 350.
During the middle-ages the abbey of Tihany, the chapter of Veszprém and the bishops of Veszprém were its possessor.
By Highway 71 you'll find the main attraction of this village, the monument cemetery with 63 heart-shaped tombstone.
Most of them (by unknown masters from villages) originate from 1800-1850. Tombstones like these can be found elsewhere in the Balaton Highland, however, you can see the greatest number of them here.
According to the information board in front of the cemetery, the reformed, the papistic and the israelite cemetery have been separated.
