Geocache Description:

21 May 2019, 18:30 - 20:30

A while since we've had a meeting in HG, so let's see if there are still any of the old faces around.  New faces welcome too!

How to get here:

Train: the location is right next to the station (main entrance on the West side, platform 1).  From Leeds, trains are half-hourly until 20:30, hourly after that.  The last train back is 23:17. From York, trains are hourly at about 11 mins past the hour, last train back is 22:06.  In each case, journey time is about 35 min. (Please check the timetables as they change in mid-May).

Bus:  The location is also next to the bus station where there are services to and from the local areas; in addition, there is the frequent 36 Leeds and Ripon bus (drops to hourly after 8-ish in the evening).

Car: Parking in Harrogate can be problematic.  If you're lucky, there is a small P&D between the railway and bus stations.  Note that the road is one way, so if you miss the entrance, you'll have to drive all round the block - just keep turning left. The car park at the front of the station itself is only for picking up and dropping off, though there is another P&D space at the back entrance (Platform 3, East side). If you park there, you'll have to walk round the block as you need a ticket to cut through the station.  Avoid the multi-storey (Victoria car park) as it closes at 19:30.

There is another multi-storey (Jubilee) a short walk away which is open till 23:00 and for those who can't get enough smartphone apps, there is "AppyParking" which shows any free on-street spaces.

The above coordinates are for the Harrogate Tap which occupies what was once part of the Victorian station building.  It specialises in beers from all parts of the world, though there are options for non beer drinkers, plus a few bar snacks.  However, if you are looking for a full dinner menu, you will have to wander a short distance around the town.  I'm happy to advise anyone who asks.
