In the summertime when the weather is high. You can stretch right up and touch the sky. When the weather's fine.
Is the famous line from Mungo Jerry's song, The story goes he wrote this song after a history class about the why we change time twice a year.
British Summer Time was first established by the Summer Time Act 1916, after a campaign by builder William Willett. His original proposal was to move the clocks forward by 80 minutes, in 20-minute weekly steps on Sundays in April and by the reverse procedure in September but we now have a system where we spring forward and fall backwards an hour. On this day back in 1916 we all started to wind our watches on an hour.
