Geocache Description:

A Fine Pair Maplebeck

Number 1311 in a series of caches where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box.

The only rules are that they have to be able to be photographed together, be not more than 100’ apart and the phone boxes have to be red.

The letterbox is one of the earlier type of wall boxes of Elizabeth II reign. The telephone kiosk is Grade II listed, achieving the status on 14 December 2010. The telephone kiosk is listed due to the proximity to two other listed buildings, Low Farmhouse (Grade II) and St Radegund (Grade I). Maplebeck is also one of the 53 'Thankful' villages in the UK. This means everyone who went to war in WWI came home. A simple plaque commemorating this can be seen by the letter box.
