Acresford is the site of a former brewery, founded in 1860 by John Harley Berry, and continued by the Cooper family in 1876, eventually closing in 1900. You may notice the Cooper family lend their name to the close you are stood in. There is also a disused pit behind the older houses on your left. Even more fascinating than the brewery is the local church hidden in plain sight in the row of houses. Founded in 1910 and still holding regular services, you don’t find many churches nestled in the grounds of a brewery! To get to cache 10, you will need to cross the busy A444. Please cross this road carefully especially with geokids and geodogs.
