Geocache Description:

Along the Lookout Trail [This is the second oldest cache placed in Algonquin Park.]

The Lookout Trail is one of 13 interpretive trails maintained in the Parkway Corridor of Algonquin Provincial Park. The Lookout Trail is a 1.9 km loop which climbs up through a young Algonquin forest to the top of a high cliff, follows the cliff brow for a hundred metres, and then descends back down to the parking lot. The contents of the cache include a waterproof topo map of the southern portion of Algonquin Park, a thermometer-compass, and a snowboard beer opener. Because this cache is located in Algonquin Park, one must abide by the rules of the Park. Consider visiting http://www.algonquinpark.on.ca/ to learn more.

The trail guide, available at the head of the trail, includes an aerial photograph of the view from post 7. Another Algonquin cache, Algonquin By Canoe, is located within the boundaries of this photograph.
