Pretendo com esta cache dar a conhecer um dos locais mais bonitos do Algarve, com uma paisagem deslumbrante onde se avista Castro Marim, Vila Real de Santo António e a vizinha espanhola Ayamonte.

"Ergue-se Castro Marim no local em que as terras baixas e inundáveis do Guadiana se confrontam com o barrocal algarvio tendo como pano de fundo os primeiros contrafortes da serra do Caldeirão.

As origens perdem-se no tempo e ainda hoje se duvida se 'marim' tem a ver com mar ou se não passa de uma variante do árabe significando torre.

A Reserva Natural confunde-se com o sapal que se estende ao longo do Guadiana entre Castro Marim e Vila Real de Santo António, área plana de cotas baixas, sulcada por uma rede de esteiros que asseguram a drenagem e permitem a penetração da água das marés."

A Nature Reserve is confused with the marsh that extends along the Guadiana between Castro Marim and VilaReal de Santo António, flat area of low, grooved by a network of steers that ensure drainage and allow the penetration of tidal water."
