Phillipines

Nagsimula ang produksiyon ng kape sa Pilipinas noong 1740 nang ipakilala ng Kastila ang kape sa mga isla. Isang beses itong isang pangunahing industriya sa Pilipinas, na 200 taon na ang nakalilipas ang ikaapat na pinakamalaking bansa ng paggawa ng kape.

Ang Pilipinas ay isa sa ilang mga bansa na gumagawa ng apat na pangunahing uri ng kapaki-pakinabang na kape; Arabica, Liberica (Barako), Excelsa at Robusta. [2] 90 porsiyento ng kape na ginawa sa bansa ay Robusta.

Coffee production in the Philippines began as early as 1740 when the Spanish introduced coffee in the islands. It was once a major industry in the Philippines, which 200 years ago was the fourth largest coffee producing nation.

The Philippines is one of the few countries that produce the four main viable coffee varieties; Arabica, Liberica (Barako), Excelsa and Robusta.[2] 90 percent of coffee produced in the country is Robusta.

Batangas Kapeng Barako or Batangas Brew is a local specilaity. To make you need to boil water in a pot. Add brown sugar and let mixture boil for a few seconds. Remove pot from heat. Add the barako coffee, stir and allow coffee to brew for at least five minutes before straining. Coffee is served black.

Languages

There are some 120 to 187 languages and dialects in the Philippines, depending on the method of classification. Filipino as the national language of the country. Filipino and English are the official languages, with the recognition of the regional languages as auxiliary official in their respective regions
