About SideTracked Caches

This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. Its a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at the SideTracked Website

About Junction City Oregon Electric Railway Station Station

This cache will take you to a former OERwy Junction City station. The Oregon Electric Railway was an electric interurban railway. It opened between Portland and Salem in 1908. In 1912, the extension south from Salem to Eugene was opened. This is when the depot here was first opened station. The OE stopped running electric passenger trains in 1933. Electric freight ended around 1945. However, diesel trains continue to this day running down the center of Holly Street in Junction City. Luckily the depot survives, albeit as a food place. The OE depots in Eugene and Albany are also food establishments

Cache is reachable from the sidewalk.

Remember to STOP, LOOK and LISTEN anytime you are near RR tracks. Trains can come at any time from any direction!
