The Church:
All Saints Church, Catherington, is a Norman Church with a long history; it boasts a beautiful medieval wall painting and is a popular choice for weddings. The church openly encourage visitors, stating on their website; “we hope you will feel at home and will make yourself known to one of the church staff so that we can welcome you properly”. Buried in the churchyard is actor Edmund Kean and the subject of the “Famous Hampshire Residents No. 23” mystery cache. There is also a monument to Admiral Sir Christopher Cradock. All Saints was rebuilt in 1883 by the architect Edmund Ferrey. The Vicarage was built in 1970 and Catherington Church Hall was built in 2000.
The Cache:
As with all puzzle caches, the cache is not at the posted coordinates. To find the final coordinates you must first find what number comes next in the following sequence:
010418
210419
120420
040421
??????
Label these numbers ABCDEF. The cache can then be found at:
N50 55.(B-E)(D+F)A
W001 00.B(B-A)(A+D+F)
Hint: Our American friends would have the same numbers but in a different order, except 040421 which would remain the same.
