Small cache in a City of North Las Vegas park.
While checking out the parks in town, I noticed that some of them are cache free. So I decided to do something about it. As always, you should take a pen every time you go caching.
From the City of North Las Vegas Parks, Trails, and Amenities brochure:
City View, one of North Las Vegas’ more interesting parks, features a lovely waterfall and stream that meanders past trees, playgrounds, and picnic tables before emptying into a small pond. This pond is a year round home to ducks and geese, and is also the site of fishing derbies throughout the year. The park also offers several picnic areas, including a large group site with a barbecue pit, and an open field area for casual soccer, football, or volleyball games.
The above description aside, this park is a little rundown. The waterfall and stream are not functioning, and the pond is partially drained (Maybe there is some maintenance happening?). This cache is within the park boundaries, but it is on the outer edge. You must walk a very narrow trail on a hillside, and be watchful for assorted debris.
DO NOT try to park on 5th Street or Cheyenne Avenue. There are no short-cuts from either of those roads. Use the provided parking lot inside City View Park.
