RNKBerlin: Well, that was fun!
Truth be told, this event was one of the first two events we ever organised. We really did not quite know what to expect. And we were completely overwhelmed by the amount of cachers that attended the event on the Isle of Man. Thanks to everyone who attended.
Not only that, we were blown away with the amount of support and friendship we received from cachers on the island. Everybody who attended the event helped in one way or another. And allowed us to achieve all goals we had set ourselves for this ten day trip:
-
Visit the Calf of Man. Massive thanks to Caaghyr's Crew and Embi IOM for getting us in touch with the captain of the only boat that would go there in months. And to Chermione for the stellar Earth Cache. Oh, an DocN even saw penguins. Or so she thinks.
-
Find Fafnir's Treasure. Well, yes, it took the help of a German cacher, twoofnine's approval of our shortcut, and muppix's support to get there. But get there we did. What a lovely puzzle this is. And what a marvellous GZ.
-
Plunder the Money Pit. Again, it took some local support (no names shall ever be named) to get to S1. Again, teamwork with muppix to master S2. And very big thanks to another friend in Germany for finding the missing link to S3. That was tons of fun!
Also, all extremities visited, as well as all sheadings and parishes. Wallabies? Check (thanks to twoofnine, again!).
In a nutshell, and for German cachers reading this: Visit the Isle of Man. Just do it. You can thank us later.
The island is full of good caches. So much better than mainland England, and with a landscape that is more impressive than the Scottish highlands, or the Lake District. At least we think so.
So, thank you all very much. It has been one of the most interesting, most exciting holidays we have ever had. Not least because of your support. Thank you!
And to quote a famous Austrian, "We'll be back!"
