This is the first of two event caches encouraging people to come and visit Namadgi National Park! This is a beautiful part of the ACT, seldom visited by the residents of nearby Canberra. There is a lot of history at this site, being a former tracking station involved in the NASA Space Program. There are caches at this site that explain the history a little better than this so 'll leave it up to them.
I thought I'd take the opportunity to make this one a CITO event! This is a campground as well as an ex-tracking station so sometimes a bit of rubbish can be left lying around. Let's pick it up and keep Namadgi beautiful! I will supply gloves and rubbish bags so please RSVP so I know how much to bring. Some snacks will be brought also but feel free to bring your own as well.
PLEASE NOTE: It is a bit of a drive to get to the event site. While all the roads are sealed, they are quite windy in some places. Please take care when driving to the site. Also, please make sure you bring adequate water and sun protection as it can be hot and lacking in shade. If the weather looks bad, I will post updates on this page.
