Geocache Description:

This is a multi cache by the River Stour at Iford .

The headline co-ords are for a little bridge over a little weir where a back water and river meet .
At this 1st waypoint the answers to A,B ,C , can be found .
At the 2nd waypoint co-ords the answer to D can be found.
The answers to A,B,C and D are used in the formula to determine the cache final co-ords .

A bit of history. In past times the main river hugged close to Riverside Avenue to the North West and then round close to Castle Lane East to the west (as shown on "Bright's " map of 1904 ref source " The Christchurch Commons History and Walks"by Sue New man and Mike Tizzard).
But there was a back water at this spot even then .
Since 1904 the river course here has been straightened moving it further away from the roads .
The back water is where it was, but because of the straightening it is now west of the main river instead of east.
Only the noise pollution from the road traffic, from along the mentioned roads ,stops this area feeling like being in the countryside .
We have seen Herons and Little Egrets here when walking or paddling on the river
,but not yet a Kingfisher

Headline co-ords .Waypoint one .N 50° 44.546' W 1° 48.746'
Questions
A = How many straight INTERCLAMPS.
B = third digit on a straight INTERCLAMP.
C = last digit on a straight INTERCLAMP.
Don't include the " T" shaped INTERCLAMPS or the "elbow " shaped KEE KLAMP or the elbow shaped KEE CLAMP when counting.

Waypoint two. N 50° 44.609' W 1° 48.781'
Question
D = number of vowels in the first word on the riverside sign on a tall post.

Final co-ords = N 50 44.(D+C)BB W 001 4(A+4).B(C+D)D checksum =66

A precise hint given because G.P.S readings varied by .010 on different days.
Have given a T 2.5 rating to take into account summer nettles and ground ivy at final g.z .

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast, Damian from Winter Foxes has created and updates a list of cachers who has found 10 or more little bridges and can be found here, if you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan here and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xx then name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to Damian’s list.
