Geocache Description:

Time for a local addition to the Little Bridges series, close to the border of Buckinghamshire with Oxfordshire. There is nothing of particular note here – no especially pleasing bridge, nor fine views, nor lovely waterway, but you will get to visit two bridges and have an easy walk to collect the final of this simple three stage multi.

There is information to collect at both bridges, and for each you will need specialist equipment; a UV light source for one and a smartphone or tablet with app capable of reading NFC tags for the other (Update - some folks seem to have trouble scanning the NFC, so I have added the relevant number(s) in UV here as well). Which is where is down to you to determine. There is no need to clamber under the bridge or get wet. THERE IS NO NEED TO MOVE OR REMOVE THE NFC - SCAN IT IN SITU.

From the recommended parking cross the main road with great care into Perry Lane, and the first bridge is about thirty meters ahead on your right. Find the information here and then continue a short distance along the public footpath to the second bridge for the second stage.

At each of these stages you are seeking three-digit numbers - two at one bridge, and one three-digit number at the other . When you have collected all three, you can calculate the final co-ordinates. Using the Additional Waypoint "Start The Maths Here", add the smaller of the two larger of your three-digit numbers to the decimal minutes of the northings, and the largest of the three-digit numbers to the decimal minutes of the westings. Still with me? Now, subtract the smallest three-digit number from both northings and westings to determine the final location.

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast. There is a stats listing run by Billiethecat, so you can see how many Little Bridges you have found, which you can find here . If you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan and he will give you a number for your bridge.
To qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles.
